Only 2 more days until our San Diego vacation! We are all very excited to have tons of fun, relax, and spend time together as a family. We have big plans to go to LegoLand, San Diego Zoo, the SeaLife Aquarium, bike riding on the beach, and meet up with some friends. I hope we can fit all of that in in a week! I also hope to do some shopping but I haven't told the boys that yet!!! I am really hoping the 3 hour time difference won't mess with the boys too much!
Since we will be spending Thanksgiving day at LegoLand, we enjoyed our turkey dinner this past Sunday. It was very yummy and we had lots of fun hanging out with the Jones family.
Hayden has a big day tomorrow. He will be testing at karate to move up to the 7-9 year old class. This is quite an accomplishment for a five year old! The testing is going to be pretty difficult...40 push ups, 40 jumping jacks, 40 squat jumps, 40 leg raises, 5o round kicks, go through all discipline commands from memory, perform all 16 kickboxing combinations 3 times in a row...just to name a few things he has to do!!! We are so proud of how much he has grown because of karate.
Happy Turkey Day to all...enjoy time with your family and friends! xoxoComments:Ms.Moore: How busy you all seem to be!!! The days just fly by!!! We had our Thanksgiving Feast at school today and it reminded me of you !!! I hope you all have a Wonderful trip and memorable holiday together!!! Hayden, I send you good luck bear hugs for your karate testing tomorrow!!! 1-2-3 Ms.MooreAdd a comment:

Lots going on here at the McCain house! The boys are still all recovering from a long "McCain Boys Weekend" this past weekend while I visited a friend in AZ. Chris definitely kept them busy while I relaxed in the desert...it was quite enjoyable!
Hayden continues to love school. He attends a science, technology, and foreign language magnet and I am very impressed so far. He has Spanish everyday and I cannot believe how much he has learned already...he counts in Spanish without even realizing it sometimes. His writing and reading have taken off and he loves to learn new words. His personality and sense of humor are unbelievable! He cracks me up so many times a day and usually at the most unexpected times. His teacher tells me almost daily what a sweet and well behaved boy he is. He recently took his karate test for his black/white belt and once again got a perfect score on his test and earned his fourth trophy...the kid is a machine! At the end of this cycle (eight weeks) he will take a test to get into the next level class. This class is for 7-9 year olds....and Hayden will only be 5 1/2 at the time. Makes me a bit nervous.
Hudson absolutely adores his brother and will copy almost everything he sees him do. It is amazing the bond they have already formed. I was a little worried about the 4 year age difference between them as far as relating to each other and bonding, but they have already put my mind at ease. It is obvious that Hayden is going to take very good care of Hudson! Hudson mastered his ISR swimming classes in 6 short weeks...originally his instructor told me 8-12 weeks but that wasn't Hudson's plan! He tested out by showing that he could fall into the pool, float on his back, flip around and start swimming, float, etc until he could reach the side of the pool and pull himself out......all while wearing long pants, shirt, jacket with a hood, socks, shoes, and a regular diaper!!! He is amazing. He still only has 6 teeth, but there are currently a few trying to break through.
We just got word that PopPop is probably going to make a visit in a few weeks so we are pretty excited!Comments:Ms. Moore: Hey Big Guy!!! Congrats on losing your 1st tooth!!! That is a very exciting thing to happen!!! It's only the beginning!!!Muey Bueno!!!Add a comment:

Can't believe it is almost September already!!! Everything is going great here at the McCain House. Hayden started Kindergarten and absolutely loves it. When I told him in the car on Friday that he didn't have school over the weekend he said that it was just not fair because he wants to go to school everyday! He has a great teacher and has already made a lot of new friends...even a new girlfriend named Isabella....not to be confused with his other girlfriend Isabelle. He told me this was ok because the two girls were in different classes.....oh my!!!! He continues to excel in karate and will test for his black/white belt in a few weeks!
Hudson continues to be the sweetest momma's boy around! He is so much more attached to me than Hayden ever was! Currently he has his two bottom front teeth and three molars...no top front teeth yet!!! He started ISR swimming lessons two weeks ago and is doing awesome!!! ISR is a survival swimming program that teaches him to float, swim, and pull himself out of the pool in case of an accident. It is really an amazing program and he is learning life saving skills that hopefully he won't ever have to put to use, but we feel more comfortable knowing that he has them. He goes M-F for only 10 mins a day. Check out the videos to see how much progess he has already made in only two weeks.
Comments:Brenda Moore: Hi Everyone! It seems like yesterday you were entering my classroom and now you've all moved on to Kindergarten!!! You are a role model for other families to treasure all the events in your family's life. I miss you but know you are all in good hands in school and in the pool!! Thank you for keeping up to date on Hayden's accomplishments!!! Love and Bear Hugs! 1-2-3Add a comment:

I can't believe it is the end of June already!!!!! The birthday party was a blast and the boys had so much fun with PopPop, Sharon, and Mamaw while they were here.
We are headed to IN tomorrow for a 10 day visit. We are very anxious to spend some time with family and friends. Hayden has big plans for him and his cousins!
We hope everyone is enjoying their summer...we sure are! xoxoxoxoComments:Ms. Moore: Hi Hayden! I was so happy to see you,Mommy and Hudson the other day! You give the best "bear hugs"! As most of you know, Hayden and Hudson share a birthday. I was prepared to have two seperate parties to give each boy their own special day. I mentioned this to Hayden and he was not happy at all...he wants to have a party with his brother. He wants a pool party so he can be a big shark and his little brother can be a little fish...so there we have it! I wonder how long he will feel this way???
The birthday festivities are starting soon! Monday we have Hayden's birthday celebration at school. He wants to take Dunkin' Donuts in as a treat...he was kind of skeptical b/c he knows that we only go there on Sunday, but I told him it was a special day! On the 22nd, PopPop, Sharon, and Mamaw get here. This is also Hayden's last day of school so we will be at the splash park in the morning for a party and then off to pick up Mamaw at the airport in the early afternoon. Their birthday party is on the 24th and should be a really good time. On the 27th, which is their actual birthday, are going to Disney World. We have reservations for a very special birthday lunch with the characters...we can't wait! We are staying in Orlando a few nights and also going to SeaWorld. I think we are going to be exhausted after all of this is over!
I cannot believe that the school year is over next week! I just went to Hayden's conference and of course his teacher had such positive things to say about him. She said he was definitely ready for Kindergarten and will do great! Hayden has grown into such a smart, confident, loving, caring boy...we are so proud of him! He also continues to thrive in karate and amazes us with his athletic abilities. He can now swim the entire length of the pool underwater without taking a breath...that is over 30 ft!!!
Hudson has to be one of the most easy going babies. He goes with the flow and almost never complains about what is going on...unless I walk away from him! He is the biggest 'momma's boy'! If he is fussing I just need to walk into the room and he immediately stops! He finally got his first tooth the beginning of last week...the bottom two broke through at the same time and he was not very happy about it! He is not fully walking yet but will take a few steps on his own. It is going to be any day now that he is going to be running after his brother! He adores Hayden and is always trying to copy him.
We are headed to Indiana at the end of June and Hayden is very excited about it. He really misses his cousins and family!
Hugs & kisses to everyone. Keep checking back for picture updates!Comments:Add a comment:

What a great Easter we had today! The boys basically spent the entire day in the pool and we had a yummy steak dinner outside to finish the day. The Easter bunny was very good to both boys and Hayden enjoyed finding all the hidden eggs outside. Some were filled with salt water taffy (my favorite) and some were filled with coins and dollar bills. Hayden shook the eggs and only opened them if they had money...what a smart boy!!!
Hayden continues to love school and karate. I cannot believe that he will only be at RDS for a little over a month and then he is on to Kindergarten in August....WOW! Luckily we got him into the magnet school that I wanted. He is getting smarter by the day and amazes us with his vocabulary. He is really trying to read and write...he is very good at sounding out three letter words and spelling them correctly. He is also loving addition and subtraction and will do very simple problems in his head. He must take after his PopPop!
Hudson continues to be a very good baby. He is so easy going and goes along with whatever is going on. He is such a good sleeper (thank goodness)...he goes to bed at 6:00pm and doesn't wake until 6:30am along with two naps during the day. We are very lucky! He is trying new foods each day and loves grilled cheese and sweet potatoes. He is cruising holding onto things and will be walking any day now.
Both boys absolutely love the pool and are in it whenever they get a chance. I don't know what we ever did without it! I cannot believe that Hudson will be 1 and Hayden will be 5 in May!!!! We gave Hayden the choice of having his own birthday party or having one with Hudson and he of course he chose to have their party together....a pool party...Big Shark & Little Fish.
Hugs and Kisses to everyone!Comments:Add a comment:

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Hayden tested for his blue belt today and passed with an almost perfect score! I really cannot believe how strong he is...he did 25 push ups like it was nothing...and they were good ones! He continues to be very active and loves playing outside. His new thing is hitting whiffle balls...Chris pitches to him and he actually hits them over the house! I pitched to him once and he hit a line drive right at my chest...I haven't pitched to him since!
Hudson is almost 9 months old already...I cannot believe it! He is growing so fast! He now weight 19 lbs and is 27 1/2 inches long. He is not crawling yet but gets where he wants to go by scooting or rolling. He is already pulling up to stand and cruising along things. I think he is going to be walking really soon and then I am in trouble!Comments:Ms.Moore: Hi Hayden! Happy President's Day!!!Congratulations on passing your test for your blue belt!!! Way to go!!! I hope you and your family had a fun weekend!!! Don't forget to wear your pajamas to school tomorrow!!! I'll see you in the morning!!! Sweet Dreams! Love and Bear Hugs! 1-2-3Add a comment:

Do you know who Martin Luther King is? I asked Hayden this question this morning and this is what I got...
"He was a man that had brown skin and only light skin people could sit in the seats. And when he went to the shop kind of like Starbocks there was a sign that said 'whites only' so he couldn't go in. This made him very sad so he changed it. But mom, I like brown people b/c I play with my friend Riley and he has brown skin"
This kid is amazing...thank you so much Ms. Moore and Mrs. Yeomans.Comments:Ms. Moore: Hey Sweety!
You make my heart smile when I read your thoughts and what you are learning in our class. I am so proud to be your teacher, Hayden!!! Love and Bear Hugs!!!123 Ms. MooreAdd a comment:

What a relaxing Christmas we had! On xmas eve we had the Jones Family over for dinner. As always the boys loved playing together! Santa must have thought Hayden was a very good boy because he brought him the best gifts...his favorites are his new bike, a 'real' electric train, and a lego airplane. Hudson got some pretty good gifts too! On Christmas morning Nanya, Uncle Craig, and Ashley came over for Daddy's yummy breakfast. After we left we headed to the beach. Only in Florida can you go to the beach on Christmas!!! We had the most relaxing afternoon playing in the sand and digging holes...Hayden actually went in the somewhat cold water and Hudson fell asleep. We ended up eating dinner at a restaurant on the beach...what a perfect xmas dinner...grouper and shrimp!
Hudson is 7 months old today...I can hardly believe it! He is doing great...starting to crawl and is constantly laughing. He loves his rice cereal and currently his favorite food is sweet potatoes.
Hayden continues to be an awesome 4 year old. Hudson adores him and is constantly watching what he does. He is still loving school and is learning so much. The other day he says to me, "mom mom, did you know an illustrator draws the pictures in a book and the author writes the words?"...I was pretty impressed!
We are relaxing this weekend and then are headed to Busch Gardens on Monday...I will be sure to post pictures!
Hugs and Kisses to everyone!Comments:Ms. Moore: Hi Hayden! I love your bike!!! It sounds as though you and your family have had a wonderful holiday!!! I am so proud that you remember what an author and illustrator are!!! You make my heart smile!!! 123 Ms. Moore Love and Bear Hugs to you and your family!!!Add a comment:

We hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season...we definitely are! Hayden and Chris went on a 'boys' trip this past weekend to California. They had a blast and enjoyed their stay in Malibu. Hudson and I stayed home and spent some bonding time together...he is really a momma's boy.
This is the first year we aren't traveling to Indiana for the holidays. We really miss family but are happy we are not caught in the ice and snow storms. It is almost 80 degrees here and Hayden is currently swimming...the water is only 70 degrees but it doesn't seem to bother him! We plan on taking the boys to the beach tomorrow afternoon...what a way to spend Christmas! Hayden is very anxious for Santa to come tonight...we made him some special candycane cookies this morning.
Merry Christmas to everyone...stay warm, safe, and enjoy your family and friends!Comments:Add a comment:
